Golden Lotus Blossom Earrings

The Sinhalese people are native to, and the largest ethnic group in Sri Lanka, where most Padparadscha sapphires are found. The term ‘padparadscha’ is a derivative of the Sinhalese word for ‘aquatic lotus blossom’. The gem named after the lotus blossom due to the color similarities; an exceptional salmon color, with a striking, unique mix of pink and orange. Padparadscha sapphires are among the rarest gems on the planet and treasured by gemstone connoisseurs. In the American Museum of Natural History, a stone from Sri Lanka of over 100 carats is on display.
