Description

Our designers are often inspired by building and architecture; here the Eiffel Tower was that Meuse. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Constructed from 1887–89 as the entrance to the 1889 World's Fair. It has become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. Also, been famously replicated in places like Las Vegas. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower exceeded the Washington Monument to be the tallest man-made construction in the world, a title it held for over 40 years until the Chrysler Building in New York City was complete in 1930. In 1957, a broadcasting aerial was added to the top of the tower, which made it 17 ft. taller than the Chrysler Building.
